Stripe Community in Vilnius: What I Am Building

The Stripe Community in Vilnius: what Stripe Community Builders do, who the Baltic group is for (founders, developers, finance teams) and how to join it.

The Stripe Community is Stripe's network of city and topic groups, run by Stripe advocates, where businesses meet at in-person and virtual events to share what works. Since September 2026 I am a Stripe Community Builder for the Baltics, and I am building the community in Vilnius for founders, developers and finance teams who build with Stripe. Stripe says the groups are open to all, and you don't need a Stripe account to join.

First Vilnius event: 6 November 2026, 18:00, at Films and Coffee (opens in a new tab), Pranciškonų g. 8, a café, gallery and co-working space in the Old Town at the corner of Pranciškonų and Šv. Mikalojaus streets. To get the invitation, write to me (details below).

I hold the Stripe Community Builder Foundations (opens in a new tab) certificate, issued by Stripe Community in September 2026. Below: what the programme is, what a builder does, who the Vilnius group is for and how to get an invitation.

What the Stripe Community is

Stripe describes it as a way for businesses to "share practical insights, connect with peers, and learn new ways to grow with Stripe and beyond". The groups come in two kinds, by city (Stripe's own example is London) or by industry (its example is non-profits). The platform at stripecommunity.com lists networking events, hackathons and panel discussions, and members hear from Stripe experts and industry leaders.

The topics follow what businesses on Stripe deal with. On the day I wrote this, the platform listed a session in Dhaka on Stripe Connect, about embedding payments into a platform or marketplace, and an online session of the Stripe Radar group on holiday fraud readiness.

The Baltics have little on the map so far. Tallinn has a Stripe community on the platform. Vilnius and Riga are not listed yet, and Vilnius is the one I am building.

What a Stripe Community Builder does

Stripe's guide lists two duties:

  • Host at least four events each year
  • Moderate an online community where businesses on Stripe connect and share knowledge

In return Stripe gives builders funding to help cover event costs, Stripe team members and product experts as speakers, use of Stripe offices for select events, and recognition as a community leader. Stripe looks for people who know its products, have credibility and an audience in their market, and like bringing people together.

One rule shapes every event: builders keep the focus on peer-to-peer value for businesses, with no promotion of their own products or services. I run Ripe Leads and the AI training company Retos galimybės, and neither gets a slot at a Stripe meetup.

Who the Stripe community in Vilnius is for

Three groups, because they sit at the same payment flow from different ends:

Group What they bring to a meetup
Founders Pricing, subscriptions, selling abroad from Lithuania, choosing what to build in-house
Developers Integrations, webhooks, Connect for platforms and marketplaces, testing
Finance teams Payouts, reconciliation, refunds and disputes, fraud checks, reporting

A founder who hears how a finance team reconciles payouts changes how they plan the product. A developer who hears what a founder promised a client builds the edge cases first. A city group puts the three in one room.

I have seen payments from the founder's side and the compliance side. I co-founded a fintech project, MonFi, and led it as CEO and anti-money-laundering officer; we stopped before launch when the licensing path needed more capital than the plan carried. Since 2022 I have run a B2B company registered in Vilnius, and I work in Lithuanian, English, German and Russian, so a meetup can run in Lithuanian or English.

Stripe in Lithuania

Stripe lists Lithuania among its supported countries, which means a company registered here can open an account and sell to customers abroad. In the Bank of Lithuania's register of financial market participants, Stripe Technology Europe Limited, based in Dublin, appears with a list of payment and e-money services. I wrote a Lithuanian guide for local businesses: Stripe Lietuvoje.

How to join the Stripe community in Vilnius

  1. Create a profile on stripecommunity.com (opens in a new tab). Groups are open to all, with no Stripe account required.
  2. Tell me you want the invitation to the next Vilnius event, through my contact page or on LinkedIn (opens in a new tab). Say whether you come as a founder, a developer or from finance, and which topic you want on the agenda.
  3. Bring a colleague from the other side of the payment flow. A developer and a finance lead from the same company get more out of an evening than either alone.

If your company in Riga or Tallinn builds with Stripe, write too. The role covers the Baltics.

More about the role

The Stripe role sits next to my other work: talks, coaching, AI training and the companies I run. The about page lists all of it, with the certificate link.

Questions and answers

What is the Stripe Community?

Stripe's network of city and topic groups run by Stripe advocates. Members meet at in-person and virtual events, such as networking evenings, hackathons and panel discussions, and share what works for their businesses. Stripe says it is open to all, with no Stripe account required.

When is the next Stripe meetup in Vilnius?

The first Vilnius event: 6 November 2026, 18:00, at Films and Coffee, Pranciškonų g. 8, in the Old Town. Builders host at least four events a year, so more follow. Write to me through the contact page or on LinkedIn and I will send you the invitation to the next one.

Is there a Stripe community in Vilnius?

I am building it. Since September 2026 I am a Stripe Community Builder for the Baltics, and the Vilnius group is for founders, developers and finance teams who build with Stripe. First event: 6 November 2026 at Films and Coffee in the Old Town. To get the invitation to the next one, write to me through the contact page or on LinkedIn.

What does a Stripe Community Builder do?

Stripe's guide says builders host at least four events each year and moderate an online community where businesses on Stripe connect and share knowledge. Stripe supports them with funding for event costs, Stripe team members and product experts as speakers, and use of Stripe offices for select events.

Do I need a Stripe account to join?

No. The Stripe Community platform says its groups are open to all, with no Stripe account required. If you are deciding whether to use Stripe at all, the events are a good place to ask people who already do.

Will the events sell me something?

No. Stripe asks community builders to keep events focused on peer-to-peer value for businesses, not on promoting their own products or services. I run other companies, and they stay out of the Stripe events.
